Welcome to Julia’s Creative Corner!
The sheer amount of options to click on in the menu, everything in the sidebar, and all the posts may be overwhelming when you’re new here. This page will help you to navigate your way around, become familiar with the blog, and find that place to subscribe! (Everyone seems to always need help with that… 😂)
Feel free to skim and read only what you’re interested in learning about!
I’ll give you a quick rundown of everything that is on the menu, so you can find what you want!
Home: This is just a page where you can find some of my social media, see the main parts of the blog (the posts, my books, and about me) as well as the latest posts. It’s great when you’re new around here and want a quick peek at what the blog is about!
Start Here!: That’s where you are! It gives you, a reader, a tour of the blog so you can be a pro at navigating – without any stress.
About: The about page tells you about the blog, and then about me, the blogger behind it!
Contact: Want to contact me about something you’ve noticed on the blog, chat, or work with me? You can send me an email on the contact page then!
WIPs: I am a writer, and if you want to know what projects I’m currently working on, then you can check out this page! (There are temporary covers as well 😉)
Goals: If you hover over the WIPs menu, then you can find the one about my goals! It’s just there to keep me accountable by declaring what I’ll do to the world. Feel free to look at it, though!
Bookshelf: This is where you can find books I’ve published. Currently, there is one book listed there that I self-published. (It has an awesome cover!)
Blog Buttons: If you’re a blogger and want to swap buttons, then you can look at this page! If you’re not a blogger but would like to find new blogs to read, you can look at this page and click through the buttons that I’ve swapped with people! If you aren’t familiar with what a blog button is, it basically is just a graphic made by the blogger for other bloggers to post on their blogs. This helps us with outreach and is both a kind thing to do for other bloggers in exchange for them being kind back to you.
Freebies: Currently, there are 3 things on this page that you can download for free, and only one requires you to submit your email!
Resources: This is only for those who are subscribed through email to my blog. They get the password to access more freebies to help with their writing journey!
There are actually quite a few things in the sidebar, so here’s a quick description of each.
Search Bar: If you’re looking for a specific post, then you can just search it up here!
About Me: Even if you don’t read the actual About page, you can find a bit about me in this spot, as well as a picture.
Follow: This free course is on learning how to kick writer’s-block-butt in 7 days! You can sign up there in the sidebar, in the Freebies menu, or at the very bottom of any page of the blog.
Recent Posts: This is a quick view on the past 3 posts that I’ve done so you know what’s going on.
Archives: You can find posts from past months here. Just keep in mind that the January with 30 posts was when I moved to this blog domain; I had to publish all my old posts on here when I did so. I did not actually post 30 new posts.
Categories: If you’re looking for a specific post, you can quickly see if I have it available here!
Tags: I use tags on posts, and this is one big tag cloud of all the tags I’ve ever used. The bigger the letters, the more I’ve used it.
Pinterest: This is a Pinterest widget where you can view my most recent pins, or click through and follow me on Pinterest!
Copyright: This is pretty self-explanatory, but the copyright is saying that everything on this blog that I post and make is not to be reproduced or copied in any way without my permission.
Finding the Follow Button
I mentioned how people have trouble figuring out how to follow, so I’ll make this easy.
You can click here and subscribe. For doing so, you get a free 7-day course on kicking writer’s-block-butt. When you subscribe, you get the choice to sign up for just writing posts or for all posts. When you sign up for writing posts only, you can get exclusive updates on my writing projects, as well as snippets! For all posts, you get a monthly newsletter that also talks about my own life. You can sign up for both if you wish, and for either of them, you get the password to the Resource tab in the menu.
Under the Resource tab, you will find suggestions on writing books I’ve personally read and found helpful, blogs I follow and are great for writers, as well as PDFs I make for you to download.
